Waterfalls
The closest waterfalls to the Cwtch at Forge Cottage are within a 20 minute walk, after there has been a deluge of rain, over the hill which the cottage lies on and a steep climb through the woodland, before you join the Dylan Thomas birthday walk.
Within 45-90 minutes there are a number of waterfall walks, those pictured are from Cenarth a village in Ceredigion 25 miles and approximately 45
minutes drive. For £3.00you can park all day by the waterfalls, the circular walk alongside the
river and into woodland is roughly 1.5km, part of which is made more accessible with a boardwalk. In September, Salmon are often seen leaping in the water and there were multitude of birds and birdsong in April.
Cenarth also houses a Coracle museum, gift shops, pubs and a garage, places to stop for a picnic.
On your way back, it's worth stopping in the market town of Newcastle Emlyn, with a plethora of independent shops, market (open restricted times) and many places to eat. A detour can also take you to the Woollen Museum.
The four waterfalls in Aberdare, (about 80 minutes) has been a popular destination for those who prefer a longer and more difficult walk, but results in spectacular views.
